One of the great joys of watching football comes from those rarely seen plays that involve the “big uglies”, offensive or defensive linemen, scoring touchdowns. The early window of Sunday’s NFL slate provided just that as the Tennessee Titans took on the Indianapolis Colts.
The Titans received the ball first and on their first drive they were able to work it down to the Colts 10-yard line. It was then on second down with six yards to go that Titans coach Mike Mularkey got creative. Former first round pick Taylor Lewan, the team’s left tackle, reported as eligible. After play faking to the other side of the formation, quarterback Marcus Mariota lofted the ball back to his tackle who did the rest.
The touchdown opened the scoring giving the Titans a 7-0 lead.
