James Monroe Iglehart plays Genie in Aladdin on broadway. He won a Tony Award for the show in 2014 and is a main reason Aladdin is a sellout every night in NYC. The Tony-Award winner is also a huge sports fan, particularly basketball, football, and wrestling. Coming from the Bay Area, Iglehart is a die-hard Warriors and Raiders fan.

Iglehart joined me in studio on The Jake Brown Show on to talk about Aladdin, broadway, Warriors, Raiders, and much more. The interview came hours after the passing of Craig Sager.

We lost an icon in sports when Craig Sager passed away at the age of 65 Thursday. There will never be another reporter like him on the sidelines. Players and coaches looked forward to chatting with Sager between quarters or after the game. They would poke fun at whatever suit he was wearing and share laughs with a guy who made those around him better.

Iglehart and I gave a tribute to Sager as well as the late Alan Thicke in a rap freestyle on the show.

Hear the Genie sing some Grease classics with the help of beatboxer Grey Matter.

We also ran through three Disney classics with Grey Matter on the beat.

Make sure you go get your tickets to see Aladdin on broadway. Also, see Iglehart perform at NJPac by getting your tickets here.
