The Tampa Bay Buccaneers added another star Tuesday, this after trading a fourth-round pick to New England for tight end Rob Gronkowski. The soon-to-be 31-year-old has not played since the 2018 season, but he and Tom Brady formed one of the most potent connections in the NFL for almost a decade.

“It’s a big day for the Buccaneers,” Damon Amendolara said on The DA Show. “It’s a big day.”

A three-time Super Bowl champion, Gronkowski is one of the best tight ends in NFL history. He caught 521 balls for 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns in nine seasons in New England. Gronkowski’s injury history is well-documented, but he gives the Buccaneers yet another option in what should be a formidable offense.

“Is it possible that Gronk only plays eight games this year? Yeah. Is it possible that he can’t stay on the field and ultimately it’s not all that big of a football play? Sure,” Amendolara said. “But today, the prospect of adding one of the greatest tight ends ever, a year away from football, still only in his early 30s for a fourth-round pick? It’s a heist. It’s a fourth-round pick. It’s a heist.”
