Monmouth Park would like to begin accepting sports wagers Monday, May 28, but veteran sports marketer Frank Vuono thinks that might be a bit idealistic – not by much, though. Monmouth may have to wait for New Jersey to implement sports-betting regulations, which could occur as early as June 7.

“Monmouth will definitely be ready to go right after that,” Vuono told Andy Gresh, who was filling in as host of The DA Show. “They are already in business with a sports book from England and they have everything set up to go. Monmouth Park was one of the leaders in pursuing this. New Jersey is going to be ready to go shortly. Soon thereafter, the other race tracks and the casinos in New Jersey will be ready to go.”
